Important Patient Information and Appointment Guidelines

At Bakers Family Medical Centre Toowoomba, we offer 15-minute standard appointments to ensure efficient and quality care. If you're a new patient, please allow 30 minutes for your first consultation so your doctor can thoroughly understand your medical history. Book your appointment online or call us at 4633 5800. Do you need a longer consultation or Telehealth appointment? Contact us directly for scheduling.
 

Cancellations

If you need to cancel or reschedule, please notify us as soon as possible. This allows us to offer the slot to another patient in need and ensures better service for everyone attending our medical centre.

Failing to attend an appointment—or cancelling within two hours of your scheduled time—will result in a $30 No-Show Fee, which must be settled before booking your next visit. We appreciate your understanding as we strive to maintain timely healthcare services.

Prescriptions

To ensure your safety and proper medical care, all prescription requests require a doctor’s appointment. Be sure to book ahead of time to avoid delays in your medication needs.

Referrals

As per Medicare guidelines, all referrals to specialists or other healthcare services require a consultation with your doctor.

Test Results

If your doctor has requested pathology tests or X-rays, results are generally available within 48 hours. To confirm whether a follow-up consultation is required, please contact our practice at 4633 5800 after 2 p.m.

Telephone Calls

To minimize disruptions during consultations, direct calls to the doctor are not available. Our reception team will make every effort to assist you. If further input from your doctor is required, we will relay your message and ensure your call is returned as soon as possible once a response is received.

 

Consent to Share Information

At Bakers Family Medical Centre Toowoomba, we prioritize patient confidentiality. If you wish to grant a partner or family member access to your medical records, please complete our Consent to Share Clinical/Medical Information Form, available at our reception.
